I have a job. Do you have classes at night or other alternatives?
Yes. RES offers evening courses, typically Mondays through Thursday evenings. We also offer intensive courses that meet over a compressed schedule during the winter and the summer academic terms.
What financial aid is available?
Financial aid is available to qualifying students. All scholarship applicants must first apply and be accepted to a degree program. Federal and state student loans are available. In addition, a certain number of scholarships are available to students pursuing ministry in the Reformed Episcopal Church (REC) or the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). Inquire for details ([email protected]).
Can I use my VA benefits from the GI Bill at RES?
Yes. RES is authorized to accept eligible benefits from the GI Bill. Inquire for details ([email protected]).
I am not an Anglican. May I still attend?
Absolutely. While Reformed Episcopal Seminary is formed in the Anglican tradition and teaches the Holy Scriptures according to the Anglican Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion, we are a diverse Christian community with faculty and students belonging to Presbyterian, African Methodist Episcopal, Orthodox, Pentecostal, and other Christian traditions. At RES, we believe that we all are made better in our study and ecumenical fellowship with Christians of diverse cultural, ethnic, and confessional backgrounds.
Once I'm finished with seminary am I able to be ordained?
Reformed Episcopal Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). However, The seminary does not ordain, credential, or accredit students for ministry other than providing an accredited degree in theological training according to the standards of Association of Theological Schools (ATS), the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), and the Reformed Episcopal Church (REC.) While the seminary can provide some guidance on these matters, all students seeking credentialing or ordination are advised to contact and work closely with their sending body or those agencies responsible for accrediting, certifying, or recognizing their call to ministry.
